- What is the truth about Ubiquiti? Hype or is there better options?
Ubiquiti has a cult following because when they first started offering AirMax and Edgerouter devices, nothing like them existed Then the UniFi APs showed up and again, nothing like that really existed at those prices before The unifi switches arent really anything special, but it's nice to have everything centralized
- Looking for Ubiquiti alternatives : r HomeNetworking - Reddit
Was looking at sticking with Ubiquiti but I'm really not sure I already have the USG, which seems to be perfectly sufficient for my 1Gbps connection, the US-8-60W which I've heard of issues with PoE and the U6E Maybe a U6LR? The GWN7664 does look nice though If I'm going away from Ubiquiti I'll probably replace everything

- AT T Fiber Internet with Ubiquiti Network : r HomeNetworking - Reddit
I just had AT T Fiber installed in my home, upgraded from Spectrum Cable I am using Ubiquiti hardware to run my network AT T installed a Modem WiFi router combo, so I am not able to bypass the AT T router to go to my own router What I would like to do is go from AT T Modem -> Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro (router) -> Ubiquiti Switch
- Unifi vs. Meraki (Pros, Cons, Features, etc. ) : r Ubiquiti - Reddit
100% agree there especially the router side of things with the threat signatures I guess with Ubiquiti, if just L2 roaming is acceptable, IoT radio not needed, etc then it may be a "decent" choice Since you don't need to factor in support licensing contracts it may make sense to just buy 5-10 more APs and keep them on a shelf for a just in case
