- Disk Utility APFS Conversion Failure - MacRumors Forums
After using Disk Utility in Recovery Mode to get this done, reboot again to switch back to normal mode However, you might try making this a 2 step process: first reformat it as ExFat (for PCs) Disc Utility can do it quickly Then reformat what will now be an ExFat drive as APFS
- SSD not showing in Disk Utility - MacRumors Forums
Internet Recovery Disk Utility is unlikely to help at all The OP says that the internal drive is an ADATA SX6000, which is an NMVE device Internet Recovery on a 2015 MBP will be either 10 10, or 10 11, at the newest Neither OS will see an NVME drive, not even as an "unknown" device
- Does anyone know how to fix error -69845 in disk utility?
So I rebooted in to Recovery Mode, started Disk Utility, set "Show all devices" and "Show Snapshots" under "View" menu and then delete the snapshots both on the System disk level as well as on the Data partition Then re-do the First-Aid on Container disk level and data disk level All with 0 errors
- 10. 13 Disk Utility not showing Partitioning Scheme Options (GUID, MBR . . .
It's not a bug Disk Utility still offers this option but only if you choose 'Wipe' on physical device rather than volume (which makes perfect sense) In 10 13 Apple has simplified Disk Utility's view so it only shows volumes (omitting physical devices) Go to 'View' and enable advanced view (I don't remember exact wording)
- what is snapshot in disk utility? | MacRumors Forums
The link from @DeltaMac is a good description of APFS snapshots in general The boot volume is a special case of APFS and its snapshots
- In Disk Utility suddenly are 7 Disk Images with strange names. They . . .
Agreed So far there is nothing consistent My summary: 1) Intel or Apple silicon 2) Just the Creedence cryptex for me, for others up to 7 or more!
- Disk Utility errors with internal SSD - MacRumors Forums
But after a few days if I run Disk Utility, Container disk3 shows errors, as does the bottom Macintosh HD See bellow And this happens after every fresh install Good and clean for a couple of days, then the errors in Disk Utility start showing up These errors have apparently caused no problems, but I'd like to get them fixed
- What are these disk simulators? - MacRumors Forums
I just noticed in Disk Utility I have a bunch of iOS disk simulator images - about 50GB of space in total What are they, and are they needed for somet
