I'm sorry to hear that resetting OneDrive didn't gets the issue fixed I recommend you move back the directory of OneDrive back to your C drive Connect your external drive during startup, then right-click on OneDrive icon click the 3 dots and select Settings Proceed with the Account tab and hit on Unlink this PC After unlinking the PC

This is what I get after yesterday's Windows 10 Update I can not get to any of my folders on the PC I can only access docs on OneDrive How do I get to the files on the PC or are they gone

I then looged out from OneDrive and deleted the C:\Users\me\OneDrive folder Then I restarted my machine As a test I created a new file on my desktop and went to C:\Users\me\Desktop where the file didnt appeared again When I look at the properties of the file it sais that it is actually located in the OneDrive Desktop folder (which I deleted)

Thanks a lot i too had the same issue and all my desktop icons had vanished after chaning my location from external hard drive to one of the drive in my laptop even after changing the location from external hard disk to laptop it was showing my hard drive D unavailable and alll the desktop icons vanished i followed the registry edit as described above and it worked finally
