- QJ was very stable at top of lift even when R R tires wheels and heavy interactions - QJ was fairly easy to place large blocks of 4 X :6" under platform as extra security There were others but we did keep the QJ in NY and then added another one when in Florida so have lifted dozens of vehicles maybe 100's of times over all these years

With any piece of equipment, the wattage it draws always stays the same, no matter what voltage it is hooked to The higher the voltage, the lower the amp draw Any equipment hooked up 240, will draw half the amps of equipment hooked to 120 If the lift can be hooked up 120 or 240, it should also tell you the amp draw at both voltages

I have the direct lift mentioned above but it’s the Forward brand Great lift I wouldn’t skimp a couple hundred for the auto lift brand ALI certification means the lift was tested to 150% of its rated amount I think auto lift is made by Tuxedo and while I don’t have any experience I wouldn’t try it for a couple hundred bucks

The specific lift I ordered comes with casters - so although the lift is large and takes up a bay - you can move it as needed, even roll it out of the garage should the need arise Winter storage - huge benefit - now my 2 car garage just became a 3 car garage (especially for my (3) convertibles)

Note that we made the lift selection change in time to modify the concrete floor thickness, and therefore the floor under the lift is 6" thick minimum with steel wire mesh reinforcement (approx 6'x6' area under each post) Most lifts (of this type) that we researched require at least 4" thickness

Atlas at one site, Auto Lift at another site, American Products (HA!!!) at another The Direct Lift HR-8000 ($1700 delivered) is sold by several dealerships and has the Dover (Rotary) name behind it which makes me feel a little better, like if I ever need a part

If you want to drive the C8 without going slow and at an angle to avoid scraping in places where other cars don't need to take evasive measures then the lift is worth the money I've lightly scraped with my car lifted in some entrances It would have been nasty without the lift

I lift 3 4 ton trucks, large SUV's, regular cars, and now my vette Standard ramps scrape the air dam very slightly on the way up and it clears the air powered scissor jacks I like being able to drive right on and not worry about balance or crawling on the floor to set the pads
