So, since I kept seeing more and more mention of Bring A Trailer, I thought I'd share my experience Hint: I'm embarrassed for them Right off the bat they lost the original email to request an auction After pinging them again after two weeks, they just simply said they didn't get it (even though they had responded)

I have to chime in on this discussion after an *awful* experience with Bring a Trailer, BaT After jumping through a bunch of hoops to list my 2005 Ferrari 360, I agreed to their reserve and started the auction I own a car dealership and of course the car is in the showroom and listed on my dealer website BaT knew this! Then the bashing

Thanks - Well-stated and more succinct than my response - As I said, each to his her own - Just my thoughts (and apparently some others) on BaT - IF (read: IF) I was going to purchase a car from an auction it would be Barrett, Mecum, RM etc - not "Bring a Trailer" - Again, probably just my ignorance - Cheers

Contact cellar option goes away after the auction ends At least that’s been my experience Which is exactly why, if there’s a vehicle that I am interested in I will always send the seller a message, so when they respond, I didn’t have their contact information after the auction ends

BaT's policy is clearly stated here under "How it works": How BaT Auctions work | Bring a Trailer I don't see what the problem is By forgoing a % based seller's fee it encourages interesting and desirable cars to be listed on the site When bidding it's the buyer's responsibility to factor in the 5% fee when deciding their max bid
