Bangkok is massive, with much to see and do MANY people Public transit is good Chiang Mai and the province is a wonderful part of Thailand and we spent about a week or so in the region on a very affordable private tour (send me a private message if you wish more information) Personally, I would allocate more time in around Chiang Mai
