I found a Gravely 812 on Craigslist a couple of weeks ago that looked to be in decent shape However, while talking to the owner there were several issues that concerned me The issues were hydraulic system not working, PTO not working, forward drive clutch slipping badly, seat in really bad shape, and a significant transmission oil leak

The Gravely gear reduction setups that I've seen convert the 6 lug Gravely-only design to a MUCH more standard garden tractor 5 lug design You wouldn't be able to use the dual spacers that come with the tractor but it should be easy to find dual wheel adaptors for the 5 lug wheels on the gear reduction setup

Thanks for the responses I had to move a nonrunning car I am restoring that had no steering and used the Gravely to tow it It would run for a max of about 10 min at a time as I would readjust the steering for the next move It did that with no problems, starting easy, and running smooth It still seems like a fuel delivery problem when it

The Gravely walk behind is soooo much better Even though there is no posi-trac the Gravely weighs so much more traction wasn't a problem They do get noticeably harder to steer with a dual wheel setup As big as the blade is on the walking Gravely you really need a dually kit

The standard Gravely 'L' had a max speed of about 4 mph in high and 3 mph in low I think the 'LI' has a max speed of 3 mph in high and 2 25 mph in low Other than the gearing difference, they are the same The PTO is not reversible, but it does have a "high" and "low" speed controlled by the high-low lever that controls ground speed
