- Verification of prerequisites for Domain Controller promotion failed in . . .
Verification of prerequisites for Domain Controller promotion failed The TCP ports required by Active Directory Domain Services are already in use on this computer You must remove or reconfigure the services that are currently using these ports (88, 389, 636, 3268, 3269)
- Active Directory required ports - Windows Server 2016
which according to a Microsoft Support Engineer is valid too for Windows Server 2016 ADDS Does this document include ALL ports required for every possible configuration (root domain with child domain - a local and b a local domains is mine configuration) and tasks performed (FSMO roles transfer for instance)? Probably I will have to do the following:
- Active Directory Trust Ports and DNS requirements
Do we need to open a ports listed under "Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2" as per link above for trust to work? Its a wide range of ports
- Which AD Ports required over firewall and do we need to open ports with . . .
You need to open all required ports to all DCs because of the inherit behavior of Active Directory If you're only wanting to open AD ports to a specific domain controller, you would need to create a new site in Active Directory, add the server object and subnet to it, and then configure your ACL on your firewall to only connect to that subnet
- WSUS in active directory - Client computers are installing updates with . . .
I installed my WSUS server on a Windows 2012 Server R2 and I receive the message " Client computers are installing updates with a higher than 25 percentfailure rate This is not normal " I checked the updates status on 2 computers Computer 1, has no internet access and never had
- WMI Ports - social. technet. microsoft. com
To open the ports open the Windows Firewall from the Control Panel, and add one entry for each port in the range 5000 to 5010 and one for port 135 random ports only need to be open on the remote machine
- SharePoint Configuration using Port 80 - social. technet. microsoft. com
Outlook Webaccess is already running through ports 80 and 443 (SSL) I would like to run SharePoint on SSL I am handling Authentication via Active Directory I am new at this level of network development, so please pardon the ignorance of this question My question is what is the best practice for which ports to use?
- How do i connect branch users to my Primary DC. and Share them their OU . . .
The simplest is just adding the servers and computers to the active directory domain at your main office If you can't reach the DC over the WAN link you most likely have to configure the firewall to allow AD communication
