To that end I bought a ‘02 996 with 40k miles As far as I can tell nothing has ever been done with the IMS bearing and that is on the to do list The oil hadn’t been changed in a while so first thing I did was change the oil and thoroughly inspect the filter for the pile of metal shavings I was halfway expecting given what I had read on

Bought Durametric system and tried to calibrate the sensor Some people say this system won’t calibrate the 996 but the sell said it would One guy on this site said it worked for him if he turned -20 then set, +20 and then set and finally 0 and the set, delete the fault and bingo! I tried that but couldn’t delete the fault
