Re: Cerakote Over Cerakote If your talking re-doing the entire rifle, then blast it and start over If your doing a multi-layer camo job, then painting over a base coat is fine as long as you use the same series Cerakote If your talking about touching up a scratch

It's night and day difference I missed a couple mags during a Cerakote run a few years back and decided to take the emory cloth to them instead It turned out horrible The lines are clearly noticeable and the finish feels dramatically different Blasting is imperative IMO if you want the finish that Cerakote will give you when done right

Cerakote isn't gonna flash on you like an air cure Take your time and lay down a nice even coat the large tip will be better but waste is an issue as mentioned before Show hidden low quality content

We have some cerakote at work that we used for a couple of rifles last year and didn't use up I just had a rifle rebarrelled by Southern Precision Rifles with a stainless steel barrel I was wondering if there is an advantage to cerakoting the stainless barrel or should I save it for CM weapons and just rattle can the new barrel?

The Cerakote process seems so much more costly and then you have to have a way to bake everything Plus I have no intentions or faith in subjecting a fiberglass , carbon fiber, synthetic stocks to that kind of heat
