I spent this week doing the seaplane rating course at Aero Club Como, Italy It was great fun and I highly recommend it Here's a short video of my experience

Routed: Garmisch, then followed the various VRP's round Innsbruk and on to Bolzano - You can than choose whether to follow the valley which leade to the northern end of Lake Como or go round the bottom of the high stuff to Como itself

I can highly recommend Como, they are a full ATO and have in interesting range of aircraft to choose from They will accept the UK exams sat with me towards the rating

Next day was Italy - so over mountains and lakes Lugano, Como, Lecco and d’Iseo at over FL090 on instruction from Milan Info, then into Breschia for customs Note that no customs required France to Switzerland but still in place between Switz and Italy - and involved inspection of all aircraft papers

Hello, Does anyone please know how to do factory reset or how to enter preboot mode on Aera 795? It seems Garmin's WebUpdater has soft-bricked my unit It has not been able to boot since I tried to update it It now shows usual splash screen, then the screen goes off and then Garmin logo appears again together with "LOADING " The power button does not work once this happens Thank you!

Frank's suggestion of Como Aeroclub is a good one: I flew C172 I-SAAB a few years ago now: Floatplane flying opens a whole new concept: Like power checks which turn into a fast taxi and become the takeoff run And base final low over the town with absolutely nowhere to go if the fan stops
