- Dustopper ?!? | Sawmill Creek Woodworking Community
Dustopper can be put into operation in seconds with no additional investment, assuming you already own a bucket Neither design is "HEPA" certifiable, so both will need a HEPA filter included with their respective setups to ensure that the air exhausted from the host vacuum is breathable
- Dustopper with Festool extractor | Sawmill Creek Woodworking Community
Has anyone used the Dustopper successfully with a Festool dust extractor? I just picked up the CT 15 E Hepa vacuum and have already run into issues connecting it to my Milwaukee sander Hoping I won’t have similar issues connecting the Dustopper I ordered Any suggestions on aftermarket

I can see an advantage in using the Dustopper's "Thein-type" baffle, in that it is low profile The result looks far more appealing than that from the tall Dust Deputy when placed on top of a Festool vacuum cleaner

But at the same time, it seems that the Dustopper guy reached out to Mr Thien some 2-1 2 years ago, clearly stating his interest in commercializing the technology, and inviting Mr Thien's involvement, and Mr Thien chose not even to reply to the Dustopper guy's email Thien raising a stink about it at this point seems like "sour grapes "

I am the inventor of Dustopper, and can tell you there is a lot going on with this design The rounded upper chamber; the inverted frustrum, a vortex locator with a separator wall, and more, all make this a very efficient separator There are a number of flow dynamics issues with the baffle on Thein's design that are corrected on Dustopper

Does your Dustopper do this? I’ve started to use a Dustopper with my Ridgid shop vac The Dustopper lid makes a very loud whine or whistle (it’s so loud that it makes the shop vac sound pleasant) Has anyone else encountered this? Does this occur with a Dust Deputy? Thanks in advance! Last edited by David Shoemaker; 01-31-2022 at 1:28 AM
