- Firedancer is being called Solana 2. 0. What is firedancer . . . - Reddit
Firedancer is open source, so the community and developers are invited to test and contribute Early tests have shown a 10-100x improvement over the Solana Labs validator, achieving a whopping 1 million transactions per second (TPS) per GPU core (this is just the TPS in testing and does not equal the TPS when transitioned to the mainnet)

My follow up question: People rave about how they have already achieved 600k tps in tests But if it goes live and is 10x better than the existing validator client, wouldn’t every node run firedancer and no one run old code, and therefore we’re effectively back to only have one validator client actually being used (only now it would be firedancer)

- Is everybody forgetting about FireDancer? : r solana - Reddit
Firedancer will likely raise that considerably because that team is very focused on performance optimizations from the outset The original version implemented by Solana Labs was just "make it work" Now we get to "make it work better" p s the 1 million TPS that Firedancer claims will also turn out to have been for simple balance transfers
- what’s the latest on firedancer? : r solana - Reddit
It's not Firedancer though What's on testnet is "Frankendancer", which is a thin layer of new networking stuff + the normal Solana Labs code for everything else True Firedancer is not something that has been tested anywhere nor is complete and I'm not sure how much longer it will be before it is
- So firedancer thing , what it is actually ? : r solana - Reddit
The Firedancer client is designed to be more efficient than existing Solana validator clients, which can result in lower operating costs for node operators 4 Open-source Codebase Firedancer’s open-source codebase makes it easy for developers and contributors to keep the project on an upward scaling slope
