As Calvin said, the Lil Naches and American Rivers are glacial in origin and are very cold I have only fished them in July and the water was indeed very cold and clear I think you are hard-pressed to get a fish to move to a dry fly in water that cold If I were to go back, I would try in August with nymphs and streamers

I have the Fli 4wt 9' and it is my goto rod on the small to mid sized cutthrout rivers in my area It's got back bone to cast streamers but I can control it with small dries I use the sage proformance taper or the Rio Grand as both of those lines are heavier in the taper to load the faster rod As Mumbles said you can"freaking launch it"IMO best $300 or under rod out there
