I would add GC used prices vary I recently got a used guitar from GC and the same model was used in the same excellent condition from 6-7 different GC stores and there was at least 20% price difference Search the same model and you might find it cheaper at another GC

I think the guitar stores got hip to the value of those boxes and stopped giving them away, for the most part The advent of the internet often requires them to use that box themselves to ship the guitar elsewhere I can weasel a box now and again from the local guitar stores If I do it too much, they get mad that I'm not letting them consign
