- William Optos - How they work | Tech: DMD era games - Pinside
One way that optos are supposed to work is to have working circuit boards *grins* Every single Twilight Zone pinball I've worked on lately has a failed capacitor on the opto board 100uf 35v The black stand up capacitor won't be bulged on the top It may have a ring of moisture (leaked electrolyte) at the bottom of the cap
- Define optos please | All Pinball | Pinside. com
Technically optos are usually normally closed, and when the ball is there they are open because the receiver is not receiving the light signal 0 #6 8 years ago
- HSII - The Getaway - All Optos not working - Fixed - Pinside
Have cleaned all optos and verified no broken wiring Have not rebuilt Opto board I had tried to move the diverter door by hand initially, and was very stiff - I thought it was the coil being out of alignment or dirty actuator, and I was able to get the existing coil to move manually much better after cleaning and replacing sleeve, altering
- Lets Discuss: Williams Opto Theory - Pinside. com
The optos in the TZ clock are not 'more sensitive' The different part # is simply because the minute optos needed longer legs The exact optos can be replaced with others - you would just need a standoff to raise the height Because of the distance needed, they (Williams) needed a non-standard lead length on them
- Doctor Who Mini Playfield Help: optos and levels - Pinside
- I rebuilt the mini playfield using faz white paper, using the black 3D printed carrier, pindorabox opto boards, and I also replaced all the single opto tx rx pairs with new optos from Marco - in switch test, the 2 mini PF ball lock optos and the bottommost opto that the cam wheel is supposed to trigger, will trigger
- Stern Optos and Godzilla premium Woes - Pinside. com
It’s possible However I’m holding onto two non working 3 wire optos and both have that transistor missing or knocked off I’m hoping the left stand up target was hitting it and causing vibrations that damaged the surface mounted transistor I bent the metal to give it more clearance The new optos will be here in about three days
- WPC Optos - General and Slugfest | Tech: DMD era games - Pinside
After all of these years, it amazes that all 3 of the optos had the same issue, can't be a coincidence Alternatively, it could have been resolved by removing the entire assembly what seemed like 100 times that scrubbed all of the connectors clean So if you note that the homerun optos don't work, remove the bleacher plastic then the homerun deck
- Corvette switch matrix + optos | Tech: DMD era games - Pinside
The issue, as you know, is all of the optos The rectangle theory doesn't really work when you have optos involved since there is no physical connection between the row and column as there is with a switch I would guess the problem is on the opto board Check the LM339's for shorts with a DMM (game off, diode continuity mode)
