Hi there, I’ve installed Plex on the new GKMTek 3 Plus with the Intel N150 processor, Ubuntu LTS 24 04 1 However, Plex doesn’t seem to recognize the i915 drivers, so hardware transcoding won’t be an option Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how I can fix it

EDIT: SOLVED: It ended up being a driver issue, which was a bit of a red herring as Handbrake transcoding using Quick Sync worked fine I just downloaded the latest drivers from the Intel site I am running Plex Server on a Windows 11 Pro MiniPC with an N100 CPU For several months, hardware transcoding has worked well as the N100 CPU does support it via Quick Sync This has been verified via

HEVC transcoding will result in a better quality at the same bitrate For example 1 5 Mbps will result in a 720p video instead of 480p (a good rule of thumb is it will generate the same resolution as a h 264 transcode at 1 5x the bitrate)
