I just ran WinDirStat and noticed that Google Chrome is using tons of disk space One file in particular is 5 9GB and hasn't been modified since July 11, 2013, its name is just: 00000001 What is this

Used WinDirStat and it came back with a total of 71 3GB usage at the root level; C Drives properties says 135GB being used out of 138 GB total, ie, 135 GB - 71 3GB = 63 7GB missing somewhere; No "Unknown" files reported by WinDirStat; Windows Disk Management utility doesn't report any unused partitions or unclaimed space; chkdsk comes out clean

WinDirStat, manual inspection, and any other storage consumption analysis tool report 46GB of data on the drive when launched from a copy of Windows running on the SSD This is a big discrepancy from the ~99GB consumed

WinDirStat is a port of KDirStat for Linux It's free, lightweight, small (650kb installer), fast, portable (as a standalone exe file), and works on multiple versions of Windows Besides showing folders and percentages (for the entire disk or any subset of folders), it also displays an (optional) graphical usage map

WinDirStat does have an email report feature but I've never been able to get it to work Like I said in my comment, the export report feature is still an open issue SpaceSniffer is a similar tool that has an export feature

WinDirStat has not been updated for a very long time I have no doubt its routines could be improved to support more modern hardware In the end you are still attempting to perform an analysis on a 8 TB platter HDD which itself is slow RAID array would make it slightly faster but that involves its own pitfalls
