I am using the correct optifine version for both the version of minecraft and forge I download optifine from the official website, then drag and drop the jar file into the mods folder of the modpack I start up the pack and get a crash every single time, regardless of the version of optifine I try to install it on

So I was downloading optifine and whenever I try to open the installer for it, it always opens on notepad I accidentally set it so that it opens it on notepad, is there any way to undo it and not open it from notepad? Okay so this worked for me, so hopefully it works for you too I extracted the Optifine file into my minecraft mod folder and everytime I loaded into a world, I'd get a crash report with the -1 Exit Code one After a few hours of trying to fix this, I realised I wasn't on the version of forge that the most recent 1 18 2 Optifine was on

Optifine doesn't improve fps much, people usually use optifine for the zoom in feature, also there is a fps editor thing in video settings, the default is VSync I think and you can make it unlimited, but I'm not sure that actually helps fps boosting _
