Has anyone used this solar generator? It is expensive but very interesting When Hurricane Michael came through we were without power for 9 1 2 days, and gasoline was hard to come by Something like this would negate the need to stockpile or search for gas I would love to hear from anyone who

Don't expect a solar generator to run anything heavy like a fridge, stove, boiler, even a hair dryer But something that size can be very useful for lights, maybe a small computer and internet router, charging phones, charging flashlights, and a music player

I built our off grid cabin in 1994, 380 sq ft, with 2 small solar panels, 2-12 volt batteries and THE tiny Harbor Freight generator for backup, even wired a seperate 110 volt outlet in the livingroom, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom for emergencies

What about a solar powered generator? Has anyone had any experience with one of those? I didn't even know that such a thing existed, but my son did, of all things I was looking at that because I am very leery of the exhaust fumes of a gas diesel powered one I didn't know that you could use propane natural gas to fuel a generator either

Compare this with solar modules that are in sunshine for, at best, six full‐power hours a day, and that’s just on sunny days A hydro generator producing 10 amperes around the clock matches the usable power generated by over 40 amps of solar modules
- Solar panel proximity to point of use - Homesteading Forum
The lower the solar panel voltage, the shorter the run needs to be to keep losses low If you have a 12v battery bank, a pwm solar controller, and a bunch of 18v panels, you need either really big wire, or a short run
