I'd just skip 28 Weeks Later and watch 28 Days Later instead 28 Days is a pretty good film, puts an interesting twist on the whole "zombie apocalypse" style of film, and has some good characters and scenes 28 Weeks, in my opinion at least, is a poorly written, badly done pile of crap, and isn't worth the time you'd waste to watch it

28 Days Later is why I got into the zombie genre 20 years ago, for all the reasons you stated It is truly fantastic I still think about subtle things, like the confusion when the flood of rats come through the tunnel The rapeyness stands out and I feel a lot of future dystopian movies take that on now

It seems that Danny Boyles new trilogy won't undo 28 Weeks Later as Canon which I'm happy about So we are looking at a story set 28 years after the Cambridge Outbreak or 27 5 years after the outbreak in Paris Continental Europe Personally I can see them picking up right there The virus may well be under control to an extent
