- Paying a tradesman by credit card - MoneySavingExpert Forum
On a general note, I've noticed these portable card readers more and more recently Market stallholders seem to be using them more and more and I stopped in a layby for a bacon roll last week and they accepted contactless payment by credit card via an app on their phone and a small widget wirelessly connected to the phone

I’ve had an M S credit card for 15 years now, and have had some issues with it that are frustrating I tried to buy something online (card reader at the ready to verify) last week, only for the card reader to say wrong card I rang them and wasn’t given an explanation but they would open a complaint

- What does Sp * mean on a credit card bill? - MoneySavingExpert Forum
I was shopping that day but it's a bit more than I would expect to spend in one shop, though not hugely so The nearest suggestion I can find is that someone's card reader wasn't working very well that day I'm fairly sure it wasn't an on line transaction as I don't normally do on line with local shops Thanks for any plausible suggestions
- card readers - MoneySavingExpert Forum
My RBS card reader is complaining about a low battery I tried changing batteries but either the new ones are faulty or I did something wrong as it didn't work after I had changed I've just got (as part of their switching offer) a card reader from NatWest which I think is identical to the RBS one I'm expecting it to work for RBS
